Dr. Peter Evander’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith and unwavering dedication to God’s calling. At the age of 16, a pivotal encounter with Christ, facilitated by the outreach of fellow teenagers, led him to accept Jesus as his personal Savior. Under the influential mentorship of Pastor Donald E. Cunningham, he quickly developed a passionate commitment to evangelism, embracing the vital role of a soul winner.

Within months of his salvation, Dr. Evander answered a definitive call to ministry, pledging his life to serve God in whatever capacity He deemed fit. This commitment fueled his pursuit of theological education, culminating in an undergraduate degree from Northeast Baptist Bible College in 1996. He has since cultivated a life of service alongside his wife, Stacey, for over 26 years, a partnership blessed by God and enriched by their shared devotion and the joy of raising their daughter.

Driven by an insatiable hunger for deeper scriptural understanding, Dr. Evander returned to academic pursuits twelve years after his initial graduation. Balancing the demands of pastoral ministry with rigorous study, he earned a Master of Biblical Studies from Gethsemane Bible Institute and subsequently achieved a Doctorate of Biblical Studies & Pastoral Theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary. This dedication to continuous learning reflects his unwavering commitment to equipping himself for effective service.

For over 25 years, Dr. Evander has faithfully served the Lord in various pastoral roles within independent fundamental Baptist churches. His ministry is marked by a profound love for God’s Word, which translates into a fervent passion for evangelism, fostering spiritual growth in believers, equipping future leaders, and dedicating his life entirely to God’s service until his final breath. His life’s driving ambition is to hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” from his Savior.

Since 2022, Dr. Evander has brought his wealth of experience and dedication to Independent Baptist Online College, where he currently serves as the Registrar and Academic Dean. In this role, he leverages his extensive background in theological education and pastoral ministry to contribute to the institution’s mission of preparing the next generation of Christian leaders.
