For far too long young and inexperienced Bible believers have been criticized by Bible critics for merely believing that the King James Bible only (KJBO) is the complete words of God for these last days. But KJB believers are the truest believers in God’s word today. Yet there are those who believe that all versions of the Bible are the words of God. But, is this a true belief grounded in the facts? It is interesting how the Amalekites of old attacked the rear flanks of God’s army among the weaker people such as women with their young and the elderly people instead of targeting their fight with the stronger of the army. So, like the Amalekites, the Bible critics of our day are targeting the “unwashed herd” among our rank and file who are not well equipped to fight off their attackers.
What this course is designed to do is to arm and equip those who want to stand up to their critics, to withstand in the time of trouble. To not be fooled by the subtleties of the assault by the enemy. The Bible calls being “carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;…(Eph. 4:14). Men like Mark Ward want to, in his own words, “to deliver those who are in bondage to the KJBO movement.” Mr. Ward believes that his “ministry” is to “rescue” Christians because of “no fault of their own” and are ensnared by their religious leaders and pastors. This course is not about slander, name calling or “mud slinging” but seeking to take the Holy Scriptures as a defense against those who would steal the Bible away from us and hence make us doubt God’s perfectly preserved word, the KJB. The critics criticized the Lord Jesus, the apostle Paul and persecuted the prophets of old for their belief in the words of God, even so they will persecute Bible believers today. Do not be surprised if they grow weary with us because they want us to go along to get along. All the while accusing us as being “divisive” & yet they are the ones who have moved away from believing in the KJB. So, this course seeks to help guide a Bible believer around falling for the pitfalls of the modern version onliest who come our way. Let’s take our “sword of the Spirit” to fight off our would-be detractors and stand firm with our KJB. The KJB is still able to critique the critics. Remember, the people who criticized Jesus and the Scriptures say that they were the ones who were “offended” in Mark 6:1-6. Granted that He did not stay around to argue with His critics or hold a grudge. But instead Jesus carried His teachings from village to village. The prophet Jeremiah said to the critics of his day, “for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God” (23:36). Paul put it this way to his critics in 2 Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God….” Again, the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees and scribes that they were “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye do” in Mark 7:13.
Finally, may I add what God said to the apostle John recorded in Revelation 22:18-19? It’s about adding and subtracting from God’s word of which probably we are all familiar with. It is a warning if you “take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” From the phrase, “…take away from the words,” so, Jewish scribes were not to “diminish ought from” a “word” (Deut. 4:2). Removing even “one jot (letter)” or one “tittle (stroke)” (Mat. 5:18). In other words, not only will the smallest letter not be erased, but even the smallest part of a letter will not be erased from the Law. Not even the tiniest, seemingly most insignificant, part of God’s words will be removed or modified until all is fulfilled. So, they counted each letter. This includes verb endings such as the second singular – est, and the third person singular – eth.
